Requirements on a Target Library?

When configuring a Primary Location, it says in your manual (p 65) that the Archive Library drop-down will show 'all the lists or libraries that are acceptable as the Target List'. In my case the drop-down is empty. What are the requirements for being 'acceptable'?

For the benefit of others we are talking here about the configuration of a target location for the Archivist module of Kaboodle Renditions.

To answer you question directly, any non-hidden document library in the target location web site is considered an acceptable target list i.e. a standard SharePoint document library which will used to receive the documents you are archiving from elsewhere.

When you specify the Web Site Source location the Archive Library drop down list should be loaded with set of available document libraries on the specified site. If the list is empty (as in your case) then either the site contains no document libraries or something else is wrong with the configuration.

In the case of the former please simply create a new document library which can then be selected as the archive target location. In the case of the later then please email the support team at support@kaboodle-software.com and we will be happy to give you more assistance in getting Renditions up and running.

Thanks for the reply. I believe I have found the problem: for some reason Kaboodle couldn't use my current login credentials to scan the selected site so I had to enter username+password in the dialog. As soon as I did that, the libraries appeared in the dropdown.

(Sorry for misleading you BTW; I am trying out Converter, not Archivist. But the rest of my post was accurate.)

I'm glad you found a way to resolve the issue but you should only need to set things to prompt for credentials when using Forms Based Athentciation (FBA) or when publishing cross farm or to O365 where your default network identity cannot be authenticated. However, we have seen some similar cases with Claims Based Authentciation (CBA) which requires that the Claims to Windows Token Service is running and operating under the identity of a local system account.

CBA is the default setting for SharePoint 2013 and the claims to windows service is required by many service applications including Excel Services, Word Services and Performance Point and is nothing specific for Kaboodle Renditions.

I delighted to hear that you are trying out the Converter module, most of our customers are interested in Word to Wiki, it seems we have less competition in this area.

Please let me know if we can help you further.
